The Board of Lucas County Commissioners and The Source Northwest Ohio, in conjunction with Representative Marcy Kaptur, are pleased to announce Job & Career Fair 2012 scheduled for Friday, May 4 from 9 AM to noon at the Seagate Convention Centre in Downtown Toledo.

TOLEDO – The Lucas County Board of Commissioners – President Pete Gerken and Commissioners Tina Skeldon Wozniak and Carol Contrada – will announce the 2012 Summer Youth program for TANF eligible youth ages 16 to 24 in a media conference to be held at The Source Northwest Ohio, located at 1301 Monroe Street in Downtown Toledo, on Monday, April 16 at 2:30 PM.

Texas has more than twice as many people in its workforce as Ohio. New York has several million more residents than the Buckeye State, but Ohio beat them both and every other state when it comes to job creation.

The Source Northwest Ohio will be working with local food service companies to promote opportunities in the restaurant industry at the March edition of “Get A Job Friday.”  Job seekers interested in food service careers will have a chance to meet with employers during the monthly event which will be held at The Source, 1301 Monroe Street on Friday, March 16 from 10 AM to noon.

The Lucas County Workforce Development Agency (LCWDA) is currently working to develop a strategy to assist workers who will be impacted by the recent announcement that BAX Global and DB Schenker will cease operations at Toledo Express Airport resulting in the layoff of nearly 700 full and part-time employees.
