Funding
The Source operates under the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA).
WIA is designed to streamline employment and training programs, help job seekers
find work, and help employers find workers.
The WIA system consists of a variety of government agencies which also
receive WIA funds, along with other non-profit and for-profit employment and
training organizations.
WIA emphasizes broad, local authority in determining workforce development
priorities.
WIA is an employment and training program funded through the United States
Department of Labor. The Lucas County Workforce Development Agency administers
the program.
The Lucas County Workforce Investment Board oversees WIA programs and
services.
