Project Reconnect
The Greater Toledo Urban League, Inc. will launch
Project Reconnect
in early November 2009.
Project Reconnect will target youth aged 16-24 who
have barriers to employment that need to be overcome. Those barriers include
being disengaged from the educational system, youth offenders, youth in or
aging out of the foster care system, youth with disabilities, migrant youth,
homeless and/or runaway youth, and children of incarcerated parents.
Participants in
Project Reconnect will be offered
comprehensive job readiness and occupational skills training including
career counseling, skill assessment, job readiness preparation, education,
training, and job search assistance.
Occupational skill training will be provided to program participants in the
Healthcare, Service, and Transportation/Logistics Industry. Additionally
there will also be pre-apprenticeship and green jobs preparation training
for interested youth.
All participants must meet the established eligibility guidelines
established by the Workforce Investment Act which include household income
being at or below 200% of the Poverty Level.
