The Source has a variety of job search services along with highly experienced staff that are available to help job seekers find a job, as well as highly experienced staff who can provide job placement assistance. The Job Resource Room gives job seekers access to many services, including:

Telephones: Telephones are available to contact employers about potential employment opportunities.

Internet Access: Computers are available to research employment information, complete financial aid forms and research job openings at various sites on the Internet.

Resume Development: Staff are available to help you to create or improve a resume that highlights skills, experience and education, and put it in a professional format.

Cover Letters: Staff are available to help you to create or improve various cover letters to be sent with the resumes when applying for various jobs.

Prescreen for Job Openings: Staff are available to review your resume and other documentation to preliminarily determine if you match the job orders that are placed within the center.

Job Search Assistance: Staff are available to work with individuals to develop job search techniques that will help you find employment.

Computer Software for Job Search Assistance: Various computer programs can help you develop high quality resumes and cover letters. (Win-Way Resume and Microsoft Word).

Computer Software to Gain Information about Employers: Other computer software can also obtain descriptions of various occupations and employers who fill those positions.

Computer Access in Registering for Automated Labor Exchange Services: Register with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services labor exchange system (SCOTI), and post resumes on local and national web sites (See our links to other websites)

Job Postings: Research current job orders from local employers.

Televisions/VCRs: View job search and career exploration tapes on career exploration and job search techniques.

E-mail Accounts: Set up free e-mail accounts for your job search process.

Fax Machines: You can send resumes and cover letters to prospective employers.

Copy Machines: You can copy various documents for career exploration and job search assistance.

Local Newspapers and Trade Journals: Read local newspapers and trade journals for job openings.

Computer software to upgrade skills: You can learn basic computer skills or upgrade your current skills for free. Learn these skills at your own pace. Computer programs include: Mavis Beacon Key-boarding training and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

To file a new application for Ohio Unemployment Benefits, you can:

1. File online at: http://unemployment.Ohio.gov - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

2. File by telephone at 1-877-OHIOJOB (644-6562) or TTY: 1-888-642-8203 from 7:30 am - 4:30pm. Monday - Friday (except holidays). Peak call times are Monday and Friday.
